The Barcelona Debate
Hundreds of philosophers, sociologists, writers and thinkers from a range of disciplines have come to the CCCB to participate in The Barcelona Debate. They include Zygmunt Bauman, Tzvetan Todorov, Judith Butler, Lydia Cacho, Claudio Magris, Ulrich Beck, Seyla Benhabib, Mircea Cartarescu, and Vandana Shiva, among many others.
In recent years the Debate has dealt with subjects like the sense of the European project (Old Europe, New Utopias, 2017), the challenges of collective life (In Common, 2013, Open City, 2014, and Wield the Word, 2015), and the future of our planet (The World We Need, 2018).
