Many African countries have a long-standing photographic and film-making tradition which is, nevertheless, little known outside their frontiers. This tradition has today been enriched by new television programme-makers. The works produced are firmly rooted in everyday reality and have, at the outset, a great documetary value, while they also attain a high-level artistic dimension.
