South Africa: Divided Cities

This session seeks to discuss the consequences of apartheid in terms of organising urban space and culture. Special attention will be given to the pontential role of art as a vehicle which can foster the creation of shared cultural references that are particularly important in situations which, until recently, were subkected to profound social fragmentation.
