The Barcelona Debate
Seeding Freedom
Humanity at an Evolutionary Crossroads
Debate
Vandana Shiva, activist and ecofeminist thinker will visit the CCCB to talk about the role humanity must accept in a future conditioned by the ecological, economic, political and social effects of the present climate crisis.
Vandana Shiva argues that today’s climate crisis faces humanity with a serious situation that must be resolved collectively. We can choose between continuing as we are now, colonizing nature and humanity and thus blindly advancing towards the extinction of our species. Alternatively, we have the option of confronting the future differently, taking on a conscious commitment to the Earth in order to evolve together with the rest of the species and cultures inhabiting it.
Vandana Shiva’s visit to the CCCB coincides with the Spanish-language launch of her essay, Who Really Feeds the World? The Failures of Agribusiness and the Promise of Agroecology (North Atlantic Books, 2016).
