L’Alternativa
Barcelona Independent Film Festival
The Barcelona Independent Film Festival, L'Alternativa, is held at the CCCB since its first edition in 1994. The festival has already reached twenty-eight editions, that have been sharing eye-opening films and offering filmgoers and professionals in Barcelona a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy thought-provoking screenings and activities where diversity and creativity is first and foremost.
There are two competition sections in "L'Alternativa Official": Feature Films and Short Films. "L'Alternativa Parallel" presents tributes, premieres, little-known films and work by new directors. In addition, "L'Alternativa Hall" offers a rich, varied programme of free screenings in a unique setting. Spaces for education and debate can be found in "L'Alternativa Activities", which also includes the film schools workshops, and in "L'Alternativa Professionals", which is running a professional seminar and advice sessions for film projects.
