How to Disappear

In a world governed by hypervisibility, where every gesture and every word is produced for public exhibition in the social networks, disappearance from the public-media sphere has become an act of resistance, even of dissidence. But it is not so easy to disappear in a world where there are more mobiles phones than memories, where Google Earth has mapped the planet with leaving almost no blind spots, and where we have gone from physical to digital footprint. How to go about it? Some artists, like Ana Mendieta or Cindy Sherman, have made of disappearance their body of work.
