This publication collects the conferences presented at «Urban Traumas» days, that opened the reflection on the relationship between city and catastrophe, bearing in mind the specific cases of different cities of the world and the different types of risk that it confronts the contemporary city, from the natural disaster up to the social, political or technological one. The days took place in the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona on the 7th, 8 and 9 of July of the 2004.
