Synopsis: The universality of Ché, his inspirational aura, is based on two images; one taken a year after the revolution triumphed, with his two-dimensional outline, the other taken just hours after his execution, a hieratic body with a pictorial perspective. Have these photos of Ché been embalmed, as though they were Lenin’s corpse? Have we turned an agnostic guerrilla leader into a Christ for the universal left? Would the figure of Ché be what it is today without these images?
