Synopsis:
The 20th century saw the rebirth of occultism and a great fascination with the supernatural, perhaps in response to the way science and rationalism boasted of having put an end to magical thinking. This episode reflects on this new direction and one of its surprising allies: individualism, sown indiscriminately by Ayn Rand, Aleister Crowley and the phenomenon of adolescence.
