Synopsis:
This episode of Soy Cámara studies the role of the bar scene in European and American films. The aim is to understand what part this place plays—if indeed it plays one. This collage brings together excerpts of as many as 29 well-known films that feature bar scenes in a continuous format, maintaining a visual thread through different scenes. Over the years, a wide variety of procedures have been used to represent a bar, yet we might think that it exists conceptually as a space in a limited repertoire of situations.
