The Complete Letters
Filmed Correspondence
Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco (México DF)
Wednesday 27 April sees the opening at the Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco (CCUT), Mexico City, of the exhibition “All the Letters”, coproduced by the CCCB, CCUT, ACE and La Casa Encendida. Curated by Jordi Balló, the exhibition brings together a series of filmed letters exchanged by six pairs of creators who are physically at a distance but joined by their shared concerns and viewpoints. This is the case of Víctor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami, Albert Serra and Lisandro Alonso, Isaki Lacuesta and Naomi Kawase, Jaime Rosales and Wang Bing, José Luis Guerin and Jonas Mekas, and Fernando Eimbcke and So Yong Kim. These meetings generate a type of film that is only fully comprehensible in an exhibition space of juxtaposition and simultaneity, of two-way communication, creating an atmosphere of new reflective intimacy.
