Kosmopolis Programme 2022
Pedrolo, open battle
The celebration of the literary legacy of Manuel de Pedrolo
Debate
In this session a very special literary battle takes place, dedicated to the infinite faces of Manuel de Pedrolo. Six "opponents" will defend the Pedrolo's work that has influenced them the most, and the public, whoever wishes, will also be able to enter the dialectic ring.
Let's imagine a ring, a referee and his opponents armed with literature. No one will get hurt. Among the audience, in the first rows, the arguments hit like whips and everyone wants to be part of the party. In fact, we are in an "open battle", and anyone who wants to can take part. Because we all have a Pedrolo at home, and everyone loves a Pedrolo above the rest.
The writer Anna Maria Villalonga, curator of the Manuel de Pedrolo Year 2018, will be the master of ceremonies of an evening that should serve to vindicate the radical creative freedom of Manuel de Pedrolo.
Among others, Núria Cadenes, Teresa Colom, Joaquim Carbó, Júlia Ojeda, Gerard Furest and Sebastià Benassar will participate. Each of them will tell us which of Pedrolo's works has influenced them the most, and will try to convince us to start the Pedrolo adventure wherever they tell us to start. Nobody will try to prove that has read more than the rest, because Pedrolo is immeasurable, but they will show that we are in front of the most versatile and influential author of modern Catalan literature.
Activity organized with the collaboration of Editorial Comanegra.
Presenters: Anna Maria Villalonga
Participants: Sebastià Bennasar, Núria Cadenes, Joaquim Carbó, Teresa Colom, Gerard Furest, Júlia Ojeda Caba
