Translating life

With the aim of raising the profile of writers committed to values such as the culture of peace, freedom of expression and freedom of creation, the PEN Català and the CCCB are launching a series of conversations between different authors and their translators.

Three literary creators who have dedicated their lives to art will meet the people who, at our home, speak on their behalf, that is, the translators, on the basis of a relationship that goes beyond the working sphere and often extends to complicity and friendship. They are all authors who have been able to reach Catalan thanks to the intermediation of translators who have defended their work and who have translated it into our language with passion and energy. As a way of translating life, the life of another through the sieve of our own.

Cycle curated by the poet and translator Andreu Gomila, head of PEN Català's Translation Committee.
