War

This digital publication is a compilation of the cycle of lectures on War organised in connection with the scenario created by the conflict in Iraq. In response, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and the Universal Forum of Cultures-Barcelona 2004 organised a cycle of lectures to promote reflection on the reasons for and consequences of this war. Taking part were specialists from various geographical areas who centred their lectures on specific aspects of the war in an attempt to respond to the questions it raised at international level: the regional effects in the Middle East, the processes of democratisation in Arab countries and the role of the United Nations, the European Union and the United States in this new context. These debates took place in the context of the run-up to the Barcelona Forum 2004 and were organised with the collaboration of El País and the General Consulate of the United States in Barcelona.
