Catalogue of the exhibition Bamako 03. Contemporary African Photography, a show that presents a broad selection (in the region of 200 works) of the most interesting proposals from the latest Rencontres de la Photographie Africaine de Bamako. This biennial, one of the central meeting points for African artistic creation, was organised by the Association Française d'Action Artistique (AFAA) and the Ministry of Culture of Mali and took place in the Malian capital between 20 October and 20 November 2003.
With images of the selected works of nine of the photographers taking part in the international show, plus Egyptian photographs, and work by Santu Mofokeng (South Africa), Youssef Safieddine (Lebanon/Senegal) and Van Leo (Egypt), to whom the exhibition devotes a monographic space.
