Carlos Tabernero Holgado

Lecturer at the Centre d’Història de la Ciència (CEHIC) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

Carlos Tabernero Holgado holds a PhD in Biology and is currently professor of the History of Science at the History of Science Centre (CEHIC) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He previously worked as molecular biologist at the National Cancer Institute in the United States and as a research in communication and technology at the UOC. His research and teaching focus on the media (especially cinema and television) and the processes of popularisation and communication of science, medicine and technology in the 20th century. In all these spheres, he has participated in various national and international research projects, has coordinated seasons and schools on cinema, television, science and medicine in Spain and abroad, and has numerous publications. His latest book, in this case on film and medicine. Is titled Terapias de cine (Barcelona, UOC, 2016).
