Tanit Plana

Photographer

Photographer with a degree in Audiovisual Communication (Pompeu Fabra University).

Her research and artistic production processes have received the following grants: Art for Change (Fundació la Caixa, 2012), Leonardo (Fundación BBVA, 2016), BCN Crea (2020) and Propuestas Vegap (2021), among others.

A retrospective of her work with particular emphasis on internet infrastructures in the project “Escala y fragment” was held at the Sala Canal de Isabel II gallery in Madrid (2019). “Part”, a work of contemporary movement about violence to pregnant bodies was presented at L’Auditori de Barcelona (2021), and “Puber”, an exploration of adolescence and its sociocultural practices by means of the portrait, was shown at La Virreina Centre de la Imatge in Barcelona (2021).

Her work forms part of the holdings of the Museu del Paisatge de Catalunya in Olot, the Col·lecció del Pla Nacional de Fotografia, the Col·lecció Arxiu i Memòria of Girona City Council, the CA2M in the Community of Madrid, the MACBA and the Fons National d’Art Contemporain of the French Ministry of Culture.

Her relationship with the pedagogy of the image and the mediation processes that triangulate body, politics and image have been a constant in her career. She has worked at the Laboratori de les Arts of Obra Social la Caixa, the Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica and the MAC in Mataró, among others, as creator of activities related to photography for children and adolescents. She is a regular collaborator with A Bao A Qu, has taught photography at Pompeu Fabra University and is tutor for final degree projects in photography at IDEP.
