Miquel Sureda

Physicist and aeronautical engineer

A physicist and aeronautical engineer specialising in space propulsion, he has been a lecturer and researcher at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) since 2007. He is presently coordinator of the University Master’s Programme in Aeronautics Engineering and the master’s degree in Space and Aeronautical Engineering at UPC-Terrassa. His area of research is space exploration and analysis of the architecture of interplanetary missions. He is a board member of the Sustainable Offworld Network (SONet), a community of professionals who aim to develop and explore the long-term sustainability of human activities in space. He is also working on popularisation of science in projects like Gaia Ciència with which he offers talks, workshops, and theatre shows in order to convey to anyone who wishes to listen his fascination for the universe that surrounds us.
