Alain Bergala

Is a former editor of the Cahiers du Cinéma where he was also director of collections. He has written a number of articles and books about the cinema devoted to Godard, Rossellini, Bergman, Kiarostami, etc. He also wrote Magnum cinéma. Film advisor to the French Ministry of Education from 2000 to 2002, he has made several films for the cinema and television. He was curator of the Correspondences: Erice-Kiarostami exhibition (CCCB, Barcelona 2006 and Beauburg, Paris 2007), and currently teaches film studies at Paris III University and the Fémis.
