Raval

This episode, directed by Óscar Pérez, director and producer of El sastre (The tailor) among other documentary works, is made entirely in the Raval district of Barcelona. The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona recovers the essence of its geographical location. The director’s gaze centres on four corners of the neighbourhood as places of transition where life happens. In addition to on-site filming, the programme is based on statements by the sociologist and winner of the Prince of Asturias Prize for Communication and the Humanities, Zygmunt Bauman; the lecturer in Urban Geography and Director of the Urbanization Observatory at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Francesc Muñoz; architect and former councillor for Ciutat Vella, Itziar González; the renowned architect Oriol Bohigas and the writer Quim Monzó.
