Chemist and researcher Francisco Gòdia discusses the MELiSSA project, a European Space Agency facility that aims to develop life support in space, recreate an ecological cycle and provide the basic functions for human life on an alien planet in a sustainable way. What technology do they use? What is their inspiration? What are their objectives? What difficulties do they encounter?
