Journey to Mars

Logbooks. A collective creation project

10 creators, activists and thinkers and 10 young migrants, wards and former wards of state, are the crew members on the Journey to Mars, a project that brings them together to think about two major concepts: the future and the journey. The red planet becomes both the metaphor for a possible tomorrow and the horizon for a journey that the 20 crew members will make together in a series of meetings over two months.

House

Youssef Amelal, Mohamad Bitari, Tanit Plana, Blanca Llum Vidal and Aya Zuidi

Do we know if a house is just a place? Or is it also a refuge? Is it just the walls or is it also the bodies that inhabit it, that have raised them, that will one day be enshrouded by them? A safe space that saves us. What makes a house stop being a house: it becoming a home.

Linver

Míriam Hatibi, Youssef Ben Iazza, Miquel Missé, Tanit Plana and Manal Zardouk

A word that is not. A word that is not yet.

Moving

Youssef Aboud, Ismail El Hachlaf, David Fernàndez, Tanit Plana and Lucía Serra

Four bodies in movement that never touch the ground. An unclear horizon, often confusing.

Now

Alpha Omar Diallo, Denise Duncan, Mohamed El-Qadiry, Adriano Galante and Tanit Plana

To be here, every moment, in the continuum, and in the mix of the past that becomes the future, and the tomorrow that returns to yesterday. Now is a verb, and a noun, and a neologism, an adverb or an adjective.

Recipe

Mamadou Tafsir Diallo, Blanca Haddad, Omar Oudaay, Tanit Plana and Martí Sales

When we read a recipe and follow its instructions, we have no idea what the result is going to be. The production process always eludes us: there is something in our hands that makes the result different, incalculable.
