The Earth for Those who Take Care of it

Artistic mediation as research and practice with Tau Luna Acosta

Courses and workshops

With their own creative process as a starting point, artist Tau Luna Acosta opens up a space for collective reflection about artistic mediation as a bridge between discourses and worldviews.

How do I relate with a context that might seem alien to me? How does my body metabolize information about unknown territories? Through their own work creating the mediation space for Amazonias. The Ancestral Future, which uses materials specific to the Amazonian territories, as well as mediums such as drawings and textiles, Acosta opens up a dialogue about artistic mediation as a research practice and a space to metabolize knowledge.

Accompanied by Alejandra Guerrero, researcher from the UAB Geography Department and member of the "Taula del Llobregat" collective, Acosta invites us to think and embroider together, to open up new fields of knowledge, and to reclaim artistic mediation as a profoundly political tool and fundamental artistic practice within cultural institutions.
