Amazons

"Amazons" Mediation Space

Free

The land belongs to those who look after it. A simple yet powerful idea inspires this space for creation and experimentation that accompanies the exhibition Amazons. The Ancestral Future. With these three participatory installations, we rethink our relationship with the planet.

The Amazon is a vast, diverse territory that is essential for life on Earth. Today it is seriously threatened by the exploitation of its resources: deforestation, mining, agribusiness and the construction of massive infrastructures.

With this as their starting point, Tau Luna Acosta has designed three artistic installations that invite us to appreciate the care of the Earth and the interdependencies between ecosystems.

Take part in embroidering a collective mural inspired by the words of people who look after the jungle, discover the invisible connections between ecosystems by tracing maps made of cassava starch—a staple foodstuff in the Amazon—or explore the rivers of Catalonia as you listen to the voices of water rights activists.

The space is freely accessible and independent of the exhibition, and has a rest and reading area and a library.
