Kosmopolis
New Voices from Europe
Dialogue with Juana Adcock, Erika Fatland and Albert Forns
Debate
Free
In collaboration with the platform’s members and within the context of Literary Europe Live, one of the projects in which Kosmopolis is actively participating, we will be hosting a series of dialogues and chats with emerging authors from different European countries.
Juana Adcock has lived her life between Scotland and Mexico, so she writes in English and Spanish, and Erika Fatland writes in Norwegian, but she speaks six languages and her books feature her constant travels. With the two of them we will discover a new generation of European writers who have left frontiers behind in order to create their art from a multicultural reality and reference points. We will also discuss the different ways of writing about violence, one of the themes common to their careers: Adcock has written poetry on the violence in Mexico, while Fatland has approached the latest terrorist attacks in Russia and Norway from a non-fictional angle.
Kosmopolis, in representation of the CCCB, forms part of Literature Across Frontiers (LAF),a European platform for literary exchange, translation and debate. The aim of LAF is to develop intercultural dialogue through literature and translation and to promote less translated literatures.
Participants: Juana Adcock, Erika Fatland, Albert Forns
