Memory, Responsibility and Transmission

This course will offer thoughts about, and will approach some of the questions raised by this transformation of our temporality: the difficulty of establishing a new relationship with the past now that the future has ceased to fulfil its function as a symbolic power of guidance in the present, the issues arising from present-day relationships between justice, history and public memory, and transformations of the figure of witness in the legal code.
