Dia Orwell 2024
Literary Tours through Orwell’s Barcelona
Itineraries
Free with pre-booking
We walk in the footsteps of George Orwell through libertarian Barcelona with the help of historians, photographers and writers who are experts in Homage to Catalonia.
Few texts have the intensity of Orwell’s Homage to Catalonia, a work that has stood the test of time for generations as an exceptional account of the anarcho-syndicalist social revolution in Barcelona. The Dia Orwell collective offers guided tours of the key places that appear in Orwell’s chronicle, led by professionals from a variety of fields who share a passion for this historical period.
The session “Orwell in Aragon” (Tuesday 18 June at the CCCB) is a complement to the tours through Barcelona and, through images and recordings, will let participants follow Orwell’s route through the region.
Duration: 2 hours. Free of charge. The starting point for the tours will be the Canaletes fountain.
*Registration is mandatory, and places are limited. The organization reserves the right to cancel any group if there are not enough participants.
