Non-guided tour for "Graphic Constellation" exhibition

An opportunity to visit the exhibition at your own.

An exhibition of Avant-garde Comics that is a tour through the universes of nine young female authors, and an exploration of all the changes that have radically modified the comics system, and have enabled the emergence of a constellation of avant-garde authors that combines the darkness of the uncertain present and future with the vitality of radiant colourism.

The exhibition is an opportunity to get to know the cultural and professional landscape of comics since that boom of the 1980s that populated newsstands with new periodicals, led to the professionalization of a whole generation of authors forged in the underground, favored the proliferation of specialized stores, seduced new readers and media and gave meaning to the birth of the institutional Comic Halls. But it also presents us with a political and economic interpretation of the situation of precariousness and structural insecurity in which people born between the late 1980s and 2000 find themselves, the so-called "millennial generation" that we identify from a series of topics such as the glass generation, crybaby, narcissists, addicted to social networks.

The language of the comics of the nine authors represented adopts different forms to distill disenchantment and their vital and ideological positioning, acidly reflecting the injustices and contradictions of the society in which this generational group lives. We find: strong components of formal experimentation, the journey as a narrative resource that allows answering the questions that are asked about a present marked by change and uncertainty, or immersion in worlds characterized by strangeness.
