Tiran(i)a (Tyranny) is the portrait of a country, Albania, victim of a cruel and bloody dictatorship which disfigured the face of the country and its inhabitants. The exhibition takes as its starting point the city of Tirana, the capital, which it turns into a metaphor, extrapolating the characteristics of the Albanian case to others in contemporary history.

More than a historical document, the catalogue represents human experience, the story of the physical and psychological experience of those who have lived a situation like that of the city of Tirana, whether inside or beyond its borders. Bashkim Sheku, Artan Fuga, Piro Misha, Edi Muka and Ramón Sánchez Lizarralde contribute their particular versions of that story to a compilation of texts which reveals to us a country and a succession of historical events which remain practically unknown in the West.
