Xavi Ayén

Journalist

He has been working as an editor at La Vanguardia since 2000 and is currently the Head of Culture. He had already collaborated with this newspaper in the nineties, directing the youth supplement VANG. With the photographer Kim Manresa he published Rebeldía de Nobel (El Aleph, 2009), a book that brings together interviews with sixteen Nobel Prize winners in Literature and has been translated into Arabic, Turkish and Portuguese. He also collaborated in the writing of Memories d'un espectador (La Campana, 2006), by Carles Sentís. His latest book, Aquellos años del boom (RBA, 2014), is a mammoth investigation (more than 800 pages) on the boom of Latin American literature and its relationship with Barcelona, which has earned him the Gaziel prize for biographies and memoirs 2013.
