Olga Tokarczuk
Literature, the Oldest of Continents
Debate
The Nobel Literature laureate Olga Tokarczuk speaks about her career and invites her listeners to think about literature as a territory in which to write another story for Europe.
Literature can be a space wherein to create myths, undo silences, and expand the imaginaries that govern the present. Olga Tokarczuk, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize for Literature, is renowned for her commitment to defending democracy and human rights in Poland. In this session, she will speak with the cultural journalist Xavi Ayén about The Books of Jacob, the most recent of her books to be translated into Spanish (Los libros de Jacob, Anagrama, 2023), in which she invites readers to rethink the cultural and religious frontiers of the Old Continent.
Participants: Olga Tokarczuk, Xavi Ayén
