Santi Palacios
Photojournalist
Santi Palacios is a photojournalist, Canon ambassador, and editor-in-chief of Sonda Internacional, a non-profit media outlet centred on photojournalism related with the climate crisis. Trained in sociology, he works in the areas of migration, conflict, and human ecology. His photographs have been published in such prestigious media outlets as The New York Times, Time, and El País, as well as being exhibited internationally. He has received various awards, among them a World Press Photo prize, the Ortega y Gasset Prize, and the Spanish National Prize for Photojournalism, the latter on two occasions. In 2016, he was a member of the Associated Press team that was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and he was also selected for the World Press Photo Foundation’s 6x6 Global Talent Programme in 2018. In 2023, he was a jury member for the World Press Photo competition. He is a regular contributor to 5W magazine, and also works with the NGO Open Arms, as well as teaching at the International Centre of Photography and Film (EFTI) in Madrid.
