Lilian Thuram
Previous futbol player in FC Barcelona dedicated to fight against racism
Lilian Thuram (Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, 1972), former FC Barcelona player, is a retired internationally renowned world and European champion footballer. While still a professional sportsman, he stood out for his fight against racism. He retired from football in 2008 and founded the Lilian Thuram Foundation to combat prejudice through education. His book Mis estrellas negras (Now Books, 2012) showcases great figures of humanity, all of them black, often forgotten or excluded from canonical narratives and school textbooks.
