Gueorgui Pinkhassov

Born in 1952 in Russia. A French citizen, he lives and works in Paris.
Gueorgui Pinkhassov became interested in photography as a teenager, and in 1969-71 studied at the VGIK Cinema Institute in Moskow.
He has worked for the international press, notably Geo, Grand Reportage and The New York Times Magazine, and continues to travel the world with his camera.
In 1990 he published Sidewalk, a book of colour photos on the streets of Japan.
Gueorgui Pinkhassov became a Member of Magnum Photos in 1994.
