Gerard Ortín Castellví

Artist and filmmaker

With a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, and an MA in Artists’ Film and Moving Image from Goldsmiths, University of London, where he is presently working on a PhD, Gerard Ortín has exhibited in the Miró Foundation (Barcelona), Tabakalera (Donostia), the Stedelijk Museum Bureau of Amsterdam, the Office for Contemporary Art (Oslo), and the Seager Gallery (London). His work has been screened in venues like LUX (London), Anthology Film Archives (New York), Zumzeig Cinecooperativa (Barcelona), and Numax (Santiago de Compostela). His most recent film, Reserve, received a mention for Best Short Film at the Cinéma du Réel Festival (Paris). He has worked with the Galeria Estrany-De la Mota in Barcelona and, frequently, with the Tractora cooperative of filmmakers and artists, as well as with the production company Pirenaika.
