Anna Manubens

Director of Hangar

Anna Manubens is the director of Hangar, a centre for artistic research and production in Barcelona. The centre’s current lines of work include InfraMaintenance, which looks at infrastructures as devices of governance; Practicable, which expands the concept of artistic research by combining it with free code; AudioFormal, which experiments with listening exercises; and an exploration of the art-science-technology overlap as a critical framework for thinking about sustainability and accessibility from other angles.

Up until 2017 she was Head of Public Programmes at the CAPC, contemporary art museum of Bordeaux. Before that, she was a freelance curator and producer with a preference for hybrid roles at the crossover of writing, research, programming, institutional analysis and curatorship.
