In this interview, Isaki Lacuesta talks about the experience of creating a filmed journal with Japanese director Naomi Kawase. The Girona-born Lacuesta tells how he explained his daily life to a director whose films he was familiar with but whose particular way of seeing and capturing the world he knew nothing about.
Lacuesta assesses the film speaks Correspondences, which was presented at the CCCB on 27 September 2010 with the two filmmakers in attendance. This project is part of ‘CINERGIES: Catalan cinema in dialogue with…’, an initiative of the CCCB and the Generalitat de Catalunya that brings Catalan and international filmmakers together to discuss their way of understanding cinema and to share creative spaces.
