Tsitsi Dangarembga: “The patriarchal and colonial system wants us silenced”

Writer and filmmaker, Tsitsi Dangarembga uses storytelling as a tool for both denunciation and emancipation. In this interview, she speaks about the body, memory and silence as battlegrounds for African women and reflects on the role of literature in challenging patriarchal and colonial structures. With a critical and committed perspective, Dangarembga champions writing as an act of resistance and a means of reconstructing the female subject in contexts of violence and oppression.
