AI: Artificial Intelligence
Yuk Hui and Jorge Carrión
A revolution of ideas
Debate
The philosopher of technology Yuk Hui and the writer Jorge Carrión speak about new ways of understanding artificial intelligence
Contemporary philosophy is faced with the challenge of how artificial intelligence fits in a context of technologies that are already a reality (for example, social networks, and the Internet of Things and Senses) and with possible scenarios of the more or less close future (like quantum computing). In seeking to understand the transformations being brought about by automatization and how philosophy might interpret them, the writer and cultural critic Jorge Carrión will speak with the Hong Kong-born thinker, computer engineer, and one of today’s most influential philosophers of technology Yuk Hui. Hui presents an expanded version of science and technology that takes into account links with the culture in which they are developed and argues that, in order to redefine our relationships with each other and with the life around us, we need to go beyond the traditional paradigm in order to think about this technodiversity.
