Lateral Views
Visit to "In the Troubled Air..." with Andrea Soto Calderón
Courses and workshops
Philosopher and researcher Andrea Soto Calderón invites us to visit the exhibition by paying close attention to the images as sensitive forms that lay down gestures, affections and possibilities of resistance.
Georges Didi-Huberman, with In the Troubled Air…, articulates a poetics of the air that ranges from the rift we experience in the world we live in, the “tragedy of culture” of a broken life, to an air laden with a child’s breath that affirms the fervent desire for another possibility. With this visit, Andrea Soto Calderón will trace a fragile line between the images that configure the complex relationship between emotion, commotion, gesture and affection, a vaporous condition that lives on and is apparent in the repetition of their sediments. She will also propose a critical look at the way in which these relationships are woven into the folds of the exhibition.
With Lateral Views, the CCCB expands the exhibition narrative by means of voices which, in their singularity, help us to look, and look at ourselves, from other viewpoints, turning the exhibition into a living, questioning space that is open to multiple forms of meaning.
