The Influencers is a three-day meeting to showcase independent projects that centre on the mutation of global pop culture, the public and technological fetishism.
For three nights, the seven international guests will present their work, talk to the audience, show materials, talk about challenges and tell stories about some of the strangest, most visionary or controversial projects of recent years.
The Influencers 2008 presents examples of short-circuits between music, art and ideology; stories of fictitious identities and the spreading of false news items; surrealist interventions in technological and ideological propaganda; mysterious communication campaigns and other urban recipes.
This is exploration in a territory that covers mass cultures, contemporary art and the technological revolution, leaping back and forth over the borders between disciplines and formats. The aim is to find, in the manipulation of everyday symbols, in excess and the politically incorrect, a series of keys to transform the present and, in the process, imagine the future.
