The philosopher Souleyman Bachir Diagne, lecturer at Columbia University and one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary African philosophy, will speak with the political scientist Saiba Bayo about the global crisis we are presently experiencing.
The philosopher Souleyman Bachir Diagne is a reference in African, European, Islamic and postcolonial thought. He has also devoted a considerable part of his work to the philosophy of science, especially logical thinking. With an academic career of more than thirty years in France, Senegal, and the United States, Diagne ponders the relations between Africa and the West and, from his unique standpoint, discusses themes like universalism, pan-Africanism, negritude, and religion.
In this discussion with the Senegalese political scientist based in Barcelona Saiba Bayo, Diagne will talk about his view of the pandemic and describe what this crisis means for the continent of Africa and the world.
