El Raval. Cosmopolitan Territory

What was once the emptiest sector of the walled part of Barcelona is today the city’s most densely populated neighbourhood. In this process, El Raval has become a cosmopolitan territory, but has not managed to free itself of the effects of marginalisation. How can the mixture of uses, cultures and classes be favoured without excluding anyone from it?
