Chris Ware
Anti-Gutter
Sound and graphic micro- and self-publishing fair
Festivals + Music
Free
This spring, for the third time we’ll be hosting Anti-Gutter, the sound and graphic micro- and self-publishing fair. Live music, workshops, over 60 stands and an exhibition-tribute to Chris Ware await you at the CCCB. Admission is free of charge.
Throughout the day, you’ll get to enjoy concerts, workshops and a market with over 60 exhibitors from the world of fanzines, comic books, illustration and other formats. This year, the fair coincides with the exhibition about Chris Ware, and we’ll be presenting a show in tribute to this comic-book artist with contributions from local cartoonists.
Concerts
13:00 - Salvana
14:00 - Screen-printing as it happens, with P. Taladro
18:00 - Doble Pletina
19:00 - Evripidis and His Tragedies
20:00 - Murina
21:00 - Panrike
Workshops
12:00 - Exquisite corpse in vignettes, with Escola La Gossa
A workshop where each participant draws part of a story without knowing what the other participants have done.
16:00 – Interior stories, with Naida Mazzenga
In this workshop we take as our starting point photographs from home and furnishing catalogues—those pristine, perfect, silent spaces—and turn them into the setting for our story.
Like in a board game, participants will be able to choose their own set, along with characters and objects that will serve as a basis for imagining what happens in these interiors.
Using drawing, clippings or graphic intervention, each person will come up with a short comic strip that can be turned into a poster or a mini-fanzine.
18:00 – Drawing what doesn't exist, with Ekim
A workshop to explore creativity and develop the capacity to draw without direct references. A high level of drawing skill is not required.
By means of practical exercises and visualization techniques, you’ll learn to recognize your own unique elements and how to draw them.
An ideal workshop to consolidate your own style and boost your imagination.

During Anti-Gutter, all the shortlisted authors will go into a draw. Two people selected will attend a masterclass with Chris Ware, which will take place in October 2025 during the Kosmopolis festival at the CCCB.
Open for submissions till 26 May.
