Characters such as Carpanta, The Gilda sisters, Tribulete the reporter, Zipi & Zape, Carioco and Mortadelo & Filemón defined a kind of humour that emerged from the comic strips to be shared by generations of readers.
Bruguera was one of the country's first cultural industries. It was a pioneer in the field of culture for the masses, who were the target of its products in the form of comic books and popular novel. It consequently played a prime role in the construction of the Spanish imaginary of the post-war years, specifically in the field of humour, by means of which it reached a whole range of social sectors, without distinction of class or age.
