Txell Feixas
Journalist
She has been a journalist for more than 20 years, including five years as a correspondent in the Middle East for the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA). Her coverage includes the war in Syria, the conflict in Iraq, the fall of the Islamic State, the protests in Gaza, the return of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the explosion in the Lebanese port of Beirut and the earthquake in Turkey. She has published Dones valentes (Ara Llibres, 2020 and Península, 2021) and Aliades. Les nenes de Xatila desafien les regles del joc (Ara Llibres, 2023). Feixas has received, among others, the Comunicació Award from the Federació d'Associacions d'Editors de Premsa, Revistes i Mitjans digitals and the Award Bones Pràctiques en Comunicació no Sexista from the Associació de Dones Periodistes de Catalunya. She also received the Montserrat Roig Jury Prize from the Barcelona City Council. In all cases her rigorous and human journalism, focused on making women in conflict zones visible, stands out.
