Tobi Vail

Born in Olympia, Washington (USA) in 1969, Tobi Vail is an independent musician, feminist activist, Riot grrrl pioneer and DIY fanzine editor. She was a member of The Go Team alongside Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening, K Records) and founded the mythical Bikini Kill, laying the foundations for the emerging Riot grrrl movement and helping to consolidate an idea of punk feminism that went global, and for which Vail was to become one of the spokespersons.
