Susan Orlean

An American journalist and writer

Susan Orlean (Ohio, 1955) is an American journalist and writer, a voice of The New Yorker since 1987 having worked for Rolling Stone, Spy, Esquire and Vogue. Her stories have made her one of the leading voices in cultural journalism in the United States and additionally she has published eight books to date.

Her novel The Orchid Thief (Random House, 2001) was taken to the cinema screen by Spike Jonze in Adaptation (2002), and her latest work, The Library Book (Simon & Schuster, 2018), has been acclaimed by American critics as the best non-fiction book of the last twenty-five years.
