Sitesize (Elvira Pujol Masip and Joan Vila Puig)
Sitesize is a collective devoted to creation and research about the contemporary metropolis. Since 2002 it has developed artistic projects and researched autonomous forms of cultural production and community learning. Examples are TERRApolis (2020-21), an audiovisual trilogy about the physical, spiritual, human and nonhuman life of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat; Serps d’aigua. Les rieres ocultes de Barcelona (2019-20), a project of urban semiotics under the effect of waterways, produced with the support of La Capella; Laboratori d’Aprenentatge Comunitari (2017-18) in collaboration with La Virreina Centre de la Imatge; Agència de Turisme Popular (2016-20) or the construction of an alternative story of tourism in Barcelona and Aprendizaje autónomo (2014-15), a project of research into the forms of creation and reappropriation of life based on libertarian culture and pedagogy, which obtained a research residency at the MNCARS; the touring exhibition ¡Cataluña termina aquí! ¡Aquí empieza Murcia! (2011-14) about urban spaces and popular learning; MAD#sub anotaciones desde el sub-suburbio de Madrid (2010-11), a visual essay about the south Madrid periphery; Valparaíso Aula Permanente (2010), the creation of a learning community about the city of Valparaíso (Chile); AMPIN Habitar la palabra (2010) in Valparaíso, interventions produced by SEACEX (Chile); Narracions Metropolitanes/Aula Permanent as part of the exhibition La comunitat inconfessable (2009) for the Catalan Pavilion at the 59th Venice Contemporary Art Biennale; the project SIT Manresa, Servei d’Interpretació Territorial (2005-08), a public audit of the transformation of the city, and SIT Umeå Territorial Interpretation Service (2012), at Umeå University (Sweden).
