Sayak Valencia

(Tijuana, Mexico, 1980)

Poet, essayist and performer. Holder of a European PhD in Feminist Philosophy, Theory and Criticism from the University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid. Her most recent publications include: Capitalismo Gore (2010), El reverso exacto del texto (2007) and Jueves Fausto (2004). Her works have also been published in magazines in Spain, the USA and Latin America, and have been translated into several languages.

In 2002 she co-founded La Línea, a feminist group devoted to theory, writing, publishing media art and performance. As a performance artist, her actions revolve around such ideas as the body, the public space and “queer”.
